As writer–director–producer–DoP–colourist, I led a lean, international production following photojournalist Aaron Gekoski through Peru, Southeast Asia, Southern Africa and beyond to examine how big cats are poached, traded, commodified and performed. The film blends investigative access and undercover work with controlled re-enactments, cinéma vérité and natural-history sequences, aiming for cinematic polish without compromising journalistic rigour or animal welfare. We kept crews small, planned low-impact entries, and favoured natural light and long-lens observation for sensitive situations, reserving stylised builds for moments that demanded visual clarity. Delivered in 4K / 5.1 as both 1×90 and 1×50, the film has been recognised internationally, including Impact DOCS Best of Show and a Cannes Corporate Gold Dolphin, and is distributed worldwide via Terra Mater Studios / Autentic.
